Why We Started
After working in a variety of settings serving children with Autism and their families, we found it difficult to find meaningful recreational activities or programs for them on Cleveland's Westside. Given that our clients needed the most help in the social skills and activities of daily living, it seemed unfair that there were so few year-round opportunities offered closer to where they live. We recognize that it can be difficult for parents to juggle school and therapy schedules, so recreation needed to be more easily accessible. We decided to offer recreational programs that allowed children with Autism and related diagnoses to practice making connections with other peers through similar interests in a fun, safe, environment closer to home.
