She has also presented both locally and nationally as an occupational therapy change leader with Every Moment Counts Promoting Mental Health Throughout the Day. Why did we start:

After working in a variety of settings serving children with autism and/or similar diagnoses, we found it difficult to find meaningful social recreational activities that we could recommend to our clients’ families. So we decided to provide functional programs that allowed differently abled children and young adults to learn life-long skills while making connections with other peers.

What we do:

We currently provide adapted virtual cooking classes for children with autism or similar diagnoses. Our classes promote language, social, fine motor, and self-care skills under the guidance of trained therapists.

Where classes are held:

All adapted virtual cooking classes are currently being held in each participant’s home setting via Zoom. A responsible adult is required to be present throughout the duration of the class to provide assistance to the participant as needed.
